Building my tough RB26

Once again its been months since my last post. My apologies. I'll try to fill in the gaps. Since i last posted i have began the rather large and expensive job of re-assembling my new engine! It hasn't been without its setbacks along the way but i finally feel like i might be slowly getting somewhere. I had alot of work done to the block while at the performance engineering shop (JHH in Woodridge).

The machine work is as follows:

~ All plugs pulled and hot tanked

~ Rebored to 20thou oversize (86.5mm)

~ Deck block~ 1.5mm front oil feed to head restrictor fitted, rear blocked off as standard

~ Oil returns through rear of block opened up

~ External oil return tapped into rear of head and into side of low end of sump

~ Linish crank journals

~ Entire rotating mass finely balanced to zero grams (including clutch, etc)

~ Drillings in sump from high to low ends opened up

Parts fitted so far are as follows:

~ JUN crank collar

~ ACL forged pistons

~ Spool forged conrods

~ Tomei sump baffle

~ Tomei combination metal gasket set including head gasket

~ New genuine water pump & thermostat
